12/13/2019 Nokia 3120 Pc Suite For Mac
User data (contacts, photos, messages and files) and add-on applications such as Java games and other applications will be deleted during the software update. It is strongly recommended that you make a back-up of data such as contacts, messages, and images before updating the mobile device firmware. Note: Nokia device firmware cannot be downgraded. Once you have upgraded your device, you will not be able to restore to the earlier version. Neither Nokia nor Three can guarantee compatibility with third-party add-on applications that are not supported by either Nokia or Three. If you have any Digital Rights Managed (DRM) protected content you need to back up your licenses to ensure they work after you have applied the update. To ensure that DRM-protected content will work after the software update, please follow these recommendations.
Use Nokia PC Suite to backup the device memory and use either Mass storage or Media player to transfer your content. There are two memory locations in the device, the internal memory and hard disk drive/memory card. You may also have to refresh the music library after starting the device.
Note: Windows Media DRM protected content cannot be backed up and restored with this method but will have to be resynchronized with the PC to work again. Depending on the content subscription, additional rights may have to be retrieved from the content provider. If you have any doubt, please contact the content provider before performing the update. Downloading the Nokia Software Updater installation package takes approximately 5 minutes over broadband. Installation takes another 2 minutes, plus potential PC restart time.
Memory card backup takes approximately 2 minutes and updates take approximately 20 minutes. Restoring the memory card and rebooting the device take another 2 minutes, so the total estimated time is around 30 minutes.

G. george. nDV. 13 Dec 2005 I bought a Nokia 3120 last week and I really love this phone. It is a lovely basic phone with a good design and a very good battery.
But, I have some problems regarding the connectivity to the PC. I have the Connectivity Adapter Cable DKU-5; I have installed cable drivers and the software for Nokia PC Suite.
When I connect the cable to the USB port of the PC and the other end of the cable to the 3120, I start from Nokia PC Suite to click on Get connected. A message appears: the telephone is connected to the PC. I am trying to Create wallpapers. I select an image (of size 4 KB, for example) and next I select Wallpaper and when I try to update to phone, it writes: Updating to phone failed.
And I can say that this is the message appearing in all the other applications I try to do. No transfer can be made to or from the phone. What happens? Can you help me, please?
Thanks a lot and please reply. Rating 0. B. Barry Timm.
4ut. 11 Dec 2005 I'm really VERY disappointed in this phone - for one BASIC and RIDICULOUS shortcoming! It is not able to alert you of any VM or text message or missed call, if you miss the initial beep - because the phone's display powers down after 10-15 seconds, and you have NO alert visible that you have a VM or message waiting! This is the first cellphone of the many that I've owned (including some older Nokias) that is unable to effectively alert you of a waiting VM/message. Also, it seems real silly to have a 'screensaver' function when the screen's backlight switches off before the svreensaver even kicks in! The phone also has NO keypad lighting to find the answer button in the dark, unless you activate the any-button-answer feature, and there is no dedicated, lit, button to switch the backlight or keypad light on - so you press a key, say '1' or '5' - which lights the display and keypad, and then you must cancel that '1' or '5' or whatever button you hit in the dark, before you can do what you wanted to do in the first place.
Silly stuff, for a modern phone. It's the least user-friendly phone I've used due to these little niggles, which is a pity, because I've always been a Nokia fan. Rating 0. B. Ben.
SpL. 22 Nov 2005 What a great phone. In an age where mobiles seem to get bigger and bigger so as to incorporate features such as cameras which are useless to most this is a breath of fresh air. Take my advice - get your snazzy phone free on a contract, sell it on ebay for £200, and buy one of these for £40. The simple outcome - a reliable and good looking phone, and the satisfaction that for once you have got the better of the mobile phone networks.

Next time your due an upgrade - ask yourself - are the features of the phone your being offered really worth £160 to you???. Rating 0.
